Extrusion Aluminum Services

What is Aluminum Extrusion?

Aluminum extrusion is a versatile manufacturing process. It shapes aluminum alloy into objects with specific cross-sectional profiles. We heat aluminum billets to 750-925°F in our aluminum extrusion services. Then, we push them through special dies. This process produces precise shapes and profiles for many industrial applications.

Our custom aluminum extrusion process produces strong, lightweight components. This makes them ideal for industries requiring durable solutions. We are a trusted partner in aluminum manufacturing. We manufacture both standard profiles and complex custom designs to meet your specific needs

Our Capability

When you work with Conglin for aluminum extrusion solutions, you gain access to:

  • Industry-leading extrusion equipment: We commissioned the world’s first 10,000-ton double-action aluminum extrusion press in 2002. The related technology received the National Science & Technology Progress Award.
  • Large-scale capacity with high-end output: With around 15 large extrusion lines, we produce aluminum profiles for rail vehicle bodies, lightweight automotive parts, aluminum formwork, EV motor housings, battery trays, and crash beams.
  • Integrated material-to-component capability: We combine alloy design, extrusion, machining, and assembly. This integration shortens lead times and improves structural performance.
  • Precision Manufacturing: Tolerances as tight as ±0.005 inches
  • Material Efficiency: Up to 95% material utilization with minimal waste

How Aluminum Extrusion Works

Understanding our aluminum extrusion process helps you make informed decisions for your project:

Design and Die Creation

Our engineering team collaborates with you to enhance your extrusion design. We craft custom dies using advanced CAD software and precise machining, ensuring your profiles meet exact specifications.

Billet Preparation

We use high-quality aluminum billets. First, we heat them in our computer-controlled furnaces. The temperature is between 750 and 925°F. This range makes aluminum both soft and strong.

Extrusion Process

The heated billet is placed into the extrusion press container. A hydraulic ram then applies a force ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 tons to push the aluminum through the die. This shapes the profile with consistent dimensions along its length. As the profile exits the die, we use controlled cooling systems to maintain the desired metallurgical properties. The profile is then stretched to eliminate twists, ensuring it stays straight within industry standards.

Finishing and Quality Control

Each profile goes through a thorough inspection for dimensions, surface quality, and mechanical characteristics. We include complete material certification and test reports with every order.

Quick Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Our custom aluminum extrusion services handle orders of all sizes. For new custom profiles, we usually require a minimum of 500 pounds. However, we have a large inventory of standard profiles available in smaller quantities.

The creation of aluminum extrusion dies usually takes 2-4 weeks, depending on complexity. Simple profiles are completed faster. Complex multi-void designs require more time. We also offer die storage for repeat orders.

We serve a variety of industries, including construction, transportation, electronics, renewable energy, and consumer products. Our aluminum extrusion solutions are tailored to meet specific industry standards and requirements.

Our aluminum extrusion services support a wide range of alloys suitable for different applications. We work with standard and custom alloys to meet strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability requirements across industries.

Yes, we specialize in producing both standard profiles and complex custom designs. Our advanced extrusion equipment and custom die creation process ensure precision and consistent quality for even multi-void or intricate profiles.

Absolutely. Each aluminum extrusion profile produced through our aluminum extrusion services undergoes thorough inspection for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical performance. We also offer a range of finishing options, along with full material certifications and detailed test reports, ensuring every order meets required industry standards.
